Early 2021
Early 2021 I was hired by Fabrique to assist with the visual design for CNV.nl and helped with some of the UX. With a very diverse group of members one of the goals was to follow the WCAG accessibility guidelines.

My main task was to create the visual design of the website, including the user interface (UI). Together with two UX designers we developed a interesting design system that is shaped by a visual grid. The larger your screen, the more of the grid you'll see. For sections like 'dossier,' I implemented smooth scroll transitions to enhance readability.
To make each sector feel unique, I designed special icons for all of them. Besides the visual aspect it makes you locate the correct sector faster. Additionally, some small details were added, such as the idea icon: a light bulb. When you like an idea of someone else, the light bulb will emit a sparkling light. I've improved the user experience with small design choices like this.
To get the most out of the member area, I tried to make it as simple as possible. Easy access will keep the discussions flowing and invite others to react. Also a clear design keeps it workable for everyone. The user profile page and related pages are also made more clear with special menu icons.
Throughout the entire design process I kept WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) in mind as a central principle. The objective was to create a website that also works for users with visual impairments and those who may be using (audio) screen readers.
With this in mind I incorporated adjustable fonts, high-contrast color schemes, and simplified keyboard navigation. All to keep it accessible and user-friendly for almost everyone.
